Fire Detection Cable as per SANS 10139

Each running meter includes:

  • Ph120 1mm 2 Core "enhanced" Fire Retardant Cable
  • PVC Conduit
  • PVC Connecting Box
  • 2 x Non Combustible Supports
  • Supports spaced at 500mm Apart
  • 2 x Metal Saddles

SANS 10139 makes recommendations for two levels of fire resistance of fire resisting cable
systems, termed "standard" and "enhanced". These terms are defined by the fire tests in 8.19.2(d)
and (e); BS 7629-1 now includes these requirements, which classifies cables that fall within the
scope of that standard using the same terminology. In general, cables of standard fire resistance
are suitable for most applications. However, for certain critical applications, in which prolonged
circuit integrity is necessary in the event of fire, cables of enhanced fire resistance are
recommended.

Standard fire-resisting cables should have a duration of survival of 30 min when tested in accordance with EN 50200.
NOTE This corresponds to class PH 30 as detailed in annex E of EN 50200:2015,.
