Redesign the Existing Sprinkler System.

Client to Specify which Standards are to be applied:

  • ASIB
  • FM Global
  • SANS 10287
  • NFPA

The drawings will include the following:

  • Sprinkler head positions are to be designed within the rule to accommodate the below classes of sprinkler system hazards
    • Ordinary hazard
    • High hazard
    • Special risk
  • Pipe size and pipe route to be indicated to achieve the required pressure and flows for the sprinkler system
  • Typical hanging details for the pipes according to the correct standard
  • Sprinkler control valve
  • The temperature of the sprinkler to be used in the different areas.
  • Number of sprinklers installed
  • Pump and tank drawings with pump curves for the new system required
  • Location of Remote Drain and Test Valves at the most remote point of the sprinkler system on the drawing
  • Block plans showing the following information on it
    • The extent of the protection.
    • Where more than one valve is installed, the area is controlled by the numbered valve.
    • A cross-section of the full height of the building or buildings indicating the height of the highest portion of the roof or ceiling concerning a stated datum level deemed to be the floor or ground level.
    • The class or classes of systems to be installed according to the hazard class in the various buildings.
    • The occupancy of each building.
    • The storage height and method for the most onerous risk,
    • Clear identification of the positioning of any subsidiary stop valve.
    • The positioning and details of any orifice plate installed.
    • The calculated flow and pressure requirement of each installation.
  • The hydraulic calculations to the design will provide the minimum required Flows and Pressure that dictate the minimum water supplies needed. This is critical information to determine whether the municipal supply is adequate to the requirement or whether a dedicated water supply should be provided.

The design will additionally provide for:

  • 1 x Set of hard-copy drawings
  • 1 x USB flash drive with all drawings
  • 2 x A2 Framed Block-Plan of Protected Area stipulating Full Design Parameters

Client to Provide:

  • Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Proposed Storage Configuration
  • Client Appointed Building Engineer / Architect to confirm the Roof Structure can Support the Above Installation
  • Roofing Insulation to be Class A Non-Combustible - Should the Insulation be Combustible it will need to be Removed.

Note: As a line item gets completed we will invoice that line item (invoice will be done in phases as per the drawing completion)
